We are very happy to announce the hiring of our new co-coordinators for the Northeast Seattle Tool Library, Mike and Chris!
Chris: I’m very happy to be working at the Tool Library! and look forward to helping my neighbors. Challenging projects and the “mental gymnastics” and working out details for unique problems interests me. I’ve been a tinkerer and builder since I was young, was an Army Special Forces Engineer, for 21 years, most recently I worked in the tool department at Lowe’s. My other job is custom metal fabrication and my studio is located here in Wedgwood and I love visitors. Please come by the library, say hi, and borrow some tools.
Mike: Hi! I as well am really happy to be working here at the Tool Library! I look forward to the opportunity to help the NESTL community in all manner of projects. I have a background in home construction and landscaping as well as a background in design. I have volunteered with the library and getting to know the other volunteers that grace our shed with their good work and smiling faces.
Now we are well into our busy season during the spring and summer, some members may have noticed a lot of items are reserved!
The wait list is created when someone would like to borrow an item that is currently checked out. When an item is reserved it can not be renewed and when it comes back, we call the person at the top of the list. They have that day and the whole next day we are open to come pick up the item. After that time we move on to the next person waiting.
Below is a link to the items currently on the wait list and the number of people waiting. Please be advised if there a lot of people waiting for popular items you may not be able to borrow it when you come unless we call you, even if you see them listed in the inventory!
ONLINE WAIT LIST

We will be open for regular hours Thursday and Saturday if you want to get some projects done on Sunday.
